1. Definitions

“Data Controller” means the entity that determines the purposes and means of processing Personal Information. Alianz acts as Data Controller for information collected through the Site.

“Data Processor” means an entity that processes Personal Information on behalf of a Data Controller.

“Personal Information” means information that, alone or in combination with other information, identifies or could reasonably be used to identify an individual.

“Site” means the website located at https://alianz.ca/.

“You” or “Your” means the individual accessing or browsing the Site, or the company or organization on whose behalf that individual is acting.

2. Who We Are and What We Collect

Alianz Development Inc. (“Alianz,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) designs, delivers, and manages enterprise software solutions and consulting services, primarily for public sector organizations, built on Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Azure. This Policy covers Personal Information Alianz collects through the Site, including the contact and demo-request forms. This Policy does not cover Personal Information Alianz processes on behalf of its clients under separate service or data-processing agreements, where Alianz typically acts as a Data Processor rather than a Data Controller.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

We collect Personal Information you choose to provide, such as your full name, email address, and the content of any message submitted through the Site’s contact or demo-request forms. If you contact us, we keep a record of that correspondence.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we may collect internet or network activity information, including your device’s IP address, browser type, referring website, pages visited, and the time and duration of your visit. This information may be collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies, including but not limited to analytics tools, advertising or conversion-tracking pixels, tag-management systems, spam- and abuse-prevention tools, and session-recording or heatmap tools. We may add, remove, or change the specific tools we use from time to time without amending this Policy, provided the category and purpose of processing remains as described here.

3. How and on What Grounds We Use Your Personal Information

We use Personal Information collected through the Site to:

  • Respond to inquiries and demo requests;
  • Administer, maintain, and improve the Site;
  • Communicate with prospective and existing clients about our services;
  • Investigate and prevent fraudulent, unauthorized, or illegal activity in connection with the Site;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Our processing is based on your consent, the steps necessary to respond to a request you initiate, and our legitimate interest in operating the Site and communicating with prospective clients.

4. How We Share/Disclose Personal Information to Third Parties

We do not sell Personal Information. We may disclose Personal Information to categories of third parties including, but not limited to:

  • Website hosting and infrastructure providers;
  • Customer relationship management (CRM), email, and communication platforms used to manage inquiries and demo requests;
  • Scheduling, form-handling, and analytics tools used to operate the Site;
  • Microsoft, in connection with the Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and Azure infrastructure underlying the solutions we build and support;
  • Professional advisors, where necessary;
  • Public authorities, in response to a legitimate legal request or to comply with a court order or applicable law;
  • A successor entity, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Where Alianz transfers Personal Information to a third-party processor, Alianz takes reasonable steps to ensure that processor handles the information to a standard consistent with this Policy and applicable law. The specific vendors within each category above may change from time to time as our business tools evolve; such changes do not require an amendment to this Policy.

5. How Long We Store Your Personal Information

We retain Personal Information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected — including to respond to your inquiry, maintain a record of correspondence, and comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations — unless a longer or shorter period is required or permitted by law. We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative safeguards to protect the Personal Information we store, though no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

6. What Are Your Privacy Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Know what Personal Information is being collected and for what purpose;
  • Access the Personal Information we hold about you;
  • Request correction of inaccurate or outdated Personal Information;

7. International Data Transfers

Personal Information collected through the Site may be processed and stored in Canada or in other jurisdictions where Alianz or its service providers, including but not limited to Microsoft and other hosting or infrastructure providers, operate. Personal Information transferred outside Canada may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is held, including lawful requests for disclosure by government or regulatory authorities of that jurisdiction. By using the Site, you acknowledge and consent to this processing.

8. Notice for Residents of Canada

This Policy is intended to comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”) and applicable British Columbia privacy legislation. Alianz collects, uses, and discloses Personal Information only for the purposes identified in this Policy, or as otherwise permitted or required by law, and takes reasonable steps to ensure Personal Information is accurate, complete, and protected against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. If you access the Site from outside Canada, your Personal Information may be processed in accordance with this Policy and applicable Canadian law, in addition to the laws of your own jurisdiction.

9. Changes to Our Privacy Policy

Alianz may amend this Policy at its discretion. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page; continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
